A NON STOP EXOTIC DISCO FOR TWISTED SLEAZY PEOPLE
On Friday 1st October the good ship HomoElectric is back to unite the tribes under her banner to celebrate the love of all things passionate & real... love... music... good times.
ROISIN MURPHY (DJ Set)
Roisin needs no introduction surely? Suffice to say we have been besotted with the quirky songstress since she first asked "Do You Like My Tight Sweater?" back in 1995 when Moloko gave alternative pop a new outfit. This siren's songs have been staples on our dance floor ever since. We are immensely excited to have finally lured her into our den for an exclusive DJ set which will feature Roisin performing live vocals on new material and of course some of her signature sounds.
THE YOUNG FATHERS (Live)
In conjunction with the Un-Convention music industry event HomoElectric present the Young Fathers live & direct on stage. Ally, Kayus & G hail from Edinburgh and have burst onto the music scene with a mash up of Hip-Hop, Soul, Reggae, Electro, Breakbeat, African & Go Go rythyms with dangerously crusading lyrics to define the modern melting pot (though they don't take themselves too seriously). Having featured on Simian Mobile Disco's most recent album, they went on to support them on tour and have remixed for the likes of French indie popsters Phoenix.

Sea, sun, laughter & tears of happiness - huge & special thank you to everyone at The Electriks, (I love you all) Vicky 'glitter' Scarth, (without you I wouldn't have been there) Ashley "fuckin amazing" Beedle, (incredibly funny times with you sir - so many ace memories) MC Kwasi, (bad ass) Don Letts,(the stories of the 70's over dinner, amazing!) everyone that i travelled with, (sorry, i know i talk too much) the lovely people of Petrcane and to all the beautiful places i ate & got drunk! very special, yes it's true!!

ASHLEY BEEDLE'S “TALES FROM THE LIGHT SIDE” - ELECTRIC ELEPHANT AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY 2010
All I can say is, what I fantastic time was had by all! Amazing sets from bands and deejays alike. The music was of high calibre: Mr Weatherall at the Beach Bar; The Unabombers and Oi Polloi Boat Parties; the closing party in the mini amphitheatre; Don Letts – just having him there was enough!; MC Kwasi; the dancehall queens; my love affair with Stefano and his kaftan (or should I call him Sheikh Your Booty); lots of falling and laughing; Readers WAVs and the whole WAV Swap movement; Jason Boardman missing his own boat; midnight with Moonboots (leave the bloody bell alone!); Vicky and her bottomless bag of glitter; Moggsy - for holding us all together; Rob Wheeler and his mashed potato impression; the ‘press’ girl who wanted the music turned down so she could enjoy her nap on the dancefloor (f*ck off love!)
so many memorable moments. This was one of the best for me.
Love to all who attended – NOW TURN ROUND TO THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU AND GIVE A BIG HUG AND A KISS!!!
Love Will Tear Us Apart and Young Americans…. You rose to the occasion.
