Disco Pirate

MUSIC PIRATES WILL NOT BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET

Internet service providers will not be forced to disconnect users who repeatedly flout the law by illegally sharing music and video files, The Times has learnt.

Andy Burnham, the Culture Secretary, said last year that the Government had “serious legislative intent” to compel internet companies to cut off customers who ignore warnings not to pirate material.

However, in an interview with The Times, David Lammy, the Intellectual Property Minister, said that the Government had ruled out legislating to force ISPs to disconnect such users.

Speaking ahead of the publication of a report on the future of Britain's digital industries, Mr Lammy said that there were very complex legal issues wrapped up in enforced disconnection. He added: “I'm not sure it's actually going to be possible.”

Outcast Love # 4 - GRAEME PARK

Our first Outcast Love for 2009 comes from the genius that is Graeme Park. For 25 years Graeme has flown the flag for quality music.

Graeme has been such an inspiration to my djing career from when i first went to the Hacienda 18 years ago as a teenager & for many magical years after. Listening & dancing to his well crafted sets of funk, hip-hop, disco & house has stayed with me to this day & has been reflected in my sets over the years.

Enjoy this mix from a true living legend x

I was born in Aberdeen, raised in Fife and currently live in the North West of England.

For over twenty years I've been a DJ and have played all over the world. For eight years I was resident at the infamous Hacienda in Manchester, but I started my DJ career at the Garage in Nottingham.

Before taking to the decks, I played in bands in and around Nottingham. I played saxophones, keyboards and occassionally guitar and bass. Oh, and I sang too! I still play sax, but mainly in my studio over my own productions. Over the years I've done loads of remixes (although not for a while) and I've played on most of them too.

Despite becoming the proud father of twin boys in November 2004, I still DJ most weekends all over the place and I also pop up on the radio a lot too

After all these years, I still love what I do, and I know that there are a lot of people out there who have followed me and supported me over the years.
